I am an elementary school teacher, and I think that kids can make a big difference in their world. I am going to India in July to study the UN Millennium Development Goals and explore what the MDGs can mean for kids.

The Tsukiji Fish Market
On Thursday, I got up at 4:30 am so I could go down and watch the tuna auction at the fish market. It was a huge place where wholesale buyers could go in Japan to buy fish and other local goods. In the picture, the man wearing light blue is auctioning off a tuna lot. After the auction, the buyers inpected the fish quality. It was exciting to see all the buying and selling.

Ms. Merk,
Miles got to practice saying the word, "fish," when we looked at your picture. He did it! Those were BIG fish!
